Specialists of the Regional Competence Center (RCC) and Kulebaksky Grankom LLC (a subsidiary of Ruspolimet JSC) summed up the results of the introduction of lean technologies within the framework of the national project "Labor Productivity".

The company produces import-substituting products - powders and granules for the aviation industry, fuel and energy complex, nuclear and general engineering.

"The introduction of lean technologies is one of the ways for enterprises to increase work efficiency and product competitiveness without special investments. 240 enterprises of the region have already taken advantage of this opportunity. Of these, 27 organizations are from the field of metalworking," Acting Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region Andrey Sanosyan said.

Acting Minister of Industry, Trade and Entrepreneurship of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Maxim Cherkasov said that at Grankom LLC, RCC experts chose the process of manufacturing a special powder for 3D printers as a pilot flow.

"The share of this product in the company's revenue is almost 40 percent. In six months of work, our specialists have identified 32 "bottlenecks" in this area and suggested ways to eliminate them. For example, we have developed a system for storing semi-finished products and screening, which has reduced the time to search for raw materials. In addition, the installation for packaging the finished product was modernized. Thanks to the work of experts, the output at the site has increased by 15 percent," the acting minister said.

RCC experts also trained 16 employees of the company in lean technologies and trained two internal trainers who will be able to independently optimize work processes and train their colleagues in the future.

"We have identified several types of losses in the flow, among them - waiting, unnecessary movements and movements along the flow, unnecessary actions of operators in the production process of products. The organization of targeted storage of powders and the development of regulations for working with stands for the movement of metal-powder compositions helped to solve these issues. Thanks to innovations, we managed to increase the speed of work by 28 percent and reduce work-in-progress by 12 percent," said Roman Renzin, head of the Regional Competence Center.
